Lynda Hayes My riding career started at the age of 12 – with no concept at the time of the opportunities and successes that would befall me in my equestrian life throughout Australia and the years ahead. The basics of horsemanship were taught to me after purchasing my first pony and attending the Eltham Pony Club. From there I worked my way through the levels of riding in most equestrian disciplines – Showjumping, eventing, dressage, novelty riding and harness. I competed in Pony Club learning the ropes until I discovered show riding. Show riding became my passion and I have been fortunate enough to have been able to commercialise my love of this discipline and I now run a successful training stable at Lyntan Park, while competing on my own horses and those of my loyal and longstanding clients. I have been fortunate enough to ride top quality ponies, galloways and hacks throughout my career for my clients Australia wide. I specialise in training youngsters and in my competition career have won numerous State, National and Grand National titles including over 40 Royal Show championships, with both led and ridden horses and have won Barastoc Horse of the Year over 20 times. In 2009 I was sashed the winner of the prestigious Garryowen equestrian turnout event; with this accolade I was presented with opportunities for public speaking and teaching – within Australia and New Zealand. My formal qualifications include being an Equestrian Australia and Showhorse Council accredited national level judge – adjudicating at Royal shows, Agricultural, open breed and and inter-school competitions. I am also an accredited national instructor and coach. Also my training includes a Diploma in Horse Management and a Workplace Trainer and Assessor – Certificate 4. Recently added to my repertoire are the Lynda Hayes Finishing School seminars which cover all aspects of horsemanship but specialising in competition preparation, presentation and safely handling horses. Bespoke packages can be tailored according to individual requirements. In conjunction with Top Horse TV – I have produced and featured in many educational, online videos covering key facets of competitive riding. In 2016/18 I co-commentated and live streamed the prestigious Garryowen Turnout event and have also live streamed the Grand Nationals to an audience of over 87,000 viewers from Iceland to America and England. I value my sponsors and proudly represent their companies both at home and the highest level of competition in Australia and overseas. |
